Ipswich School

Ipswich School is a very prestigious day and boarding school in Ipswich, Suffolk, located very near the town centre. It was founded in 1528 by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. The main building and chapel are both historic listed buildings. Behind the school there are very large sports fields, which ILH students are free to use.

London is only 2 hours away and Cambridge less than an hour's journey by bus. Ipswich's population of 150,000 means that it is just the right size for the foreign student - not too big and not too small. By living with host families, students will find out about the British way of life and get a chance to improve their communication skills.

The Ipswich summer programme is for students aged 14-18. Accommodation is with host families in single or twin rooms, full board (packed lunches are included). There are 20 x 45-minute lessons a week and class sizes range from 10 -14. There are supervised activities every afternoon and two evening discos a week. There are also evening barbecues, and one half- day and one whole-day excursion a week.

All teaching materials and textbooks are included in the overall price. A bus pass is also included.

An airport transfer service can be arranged.
