ACADEMIC
ENGLISH COURSES
English for Academic Study with IELTS
(Pay for nine weeks in advance get one week's free
tuition)
(Students can sit the IELTS exam at the Centre twice
a month)
● 25 x 50-minute lessons per week of Academic English
in groups no greater than 13 in size.
Students must have a Higher
Intermediate Level (B2) to join this course.
Listening to lectures, seminar skills, reading academic
textbooks, academic writing, presentation of references
and bibliographies, project work, giving papers, social
English, private study techniques, introduction to computers
and word-processing. Students can take the IELTS examination
at the Centre. IELTS
Exams are organised every two weeks. Check the dates of
the next exams.
SPECIALIST ENGLISH COURSES
English for Professionals (Standard)
● 20 x 50-minute lessons per week
of general English in groups no greater than 13 in size.
● 5 x 50-minute lessons per week of private lessons
one to one.
English for Professionals (Intensive)
● 20 x 50-minute lessons per week
of general English in groups no greater than 13 in size.
● 10 x 50-minute lessons per week of private lessons
one to one.
Course examples:
Managers and Administrators
(All participants are sent a pre-course questionnaire)
Successful business presentations, using the telephone,
social English, business vocabulary, reading the business
press, negotiating, meetings, financial management, computer
systems and applications, written communications: letters,
fax, e-mail, internet, business report writing.
Doctors and Medical English Courses
(All participants are sent a pre-course questionnaire)
Medical presentations, medical vocabulary, doctor-patient
language, case conferences and discussions, medical terminology,
pronunciation. social English, medical visits.
Business English
(Courses are also available as Main Course
with an Option)
Professional communications (telephoning, fax, e-mail,
letter-writing), business language, situational language,
report-writing, meetings, negotiation, presentations, relationship
management, Information & Communications Technology
[ICT] (Powerpoint, Outlook, Word, etc), simulations, business
press analysis, business videos / DVDs.
One-to-One Programmes
All students are sent a questionnaire to assist in the
designing of their course.

CAMBRIDGE EXAM COURSES
(CESC is an examination centre and students take the exams in the Centre)
First Certificate in English (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced
English (CAE) preparation classes
● 10 [13] week courses of 20 x 50-minute lessons
per week of examination classes in groups no greater than
13 in size.
● Exams available : Preliminary
English Test at Intermediate Level (PET), First Certificate
Exam (FCE) at upper intermediate level, Advanced (CAE)
at advanced level,
Special preparation for the chosen examination with intensive
exam practice.
Starting dates in 2008: 31 December 2007 FCE [10 weeks tuition
and ten weeks accommodation]
10 March and 8 September FCE, CAE [13 weeks tuition
and 14 weeks accommodation]
TEACHER TRAINING COURSES
(All participants are sent a pre-course questionnaire)
Summer Teachers' Course.
● Two week summer courses of 20 x 50-minute lessons
per week of general English in groups no greater than 13
in size
● 10 x 50-minute lessons per week of a professional
course in groups no greater than 13 in size
Teaching techniques, teaching speaking, listening, reading
and writing skills, teaching vocabulary. Courses are designed
to include teachers' specific needs and may include
on request, using video, multi-media and the internet,
teaching pronunciation, textbook evaluation and materials
writing, peer teaching practice.
Starting dates in 2008
: 30 June, 14 July, 28 July
ENGLISH AND CULTURE COURSES
English and Culture: one
week programme.
● 20
x 50-minute lessons of general English in groups no greater
than 13 in size
A full programme of morning English
classes and afternoon cultural activities and excursions,
with a weekend programme of visits and excursions.
COURSES AND FEES
All fees are price per student per
week unless stated. These fees are all inclusive. There
are no additional registration fees to weekly course fees
and no accommodation placement fees. Included in the fees
are the following:● all teaching costs, all books
and teaching materials (students keep their books)
● single, half-board accommodation in local families
with no other student speaking the same language (students
can arrange their own accommodation and not pay the Centre's
accommodation fees)
● free daily activities programme
● weekly evening party or similar event
● end of course certificate
● individual progress report if required
● free use of 25 student multi-media
computers with English Language Programmes, MS-Office and
free laser printing
● free use of wireless network for
internet access using laptop computers
● use of library containing large numbers of books
organised by level, newspapers and magazines

centres with hundreds of videos and audio disks and cassettes
organised by level and topic
● free and unlimited high speed [broadband]
