Colchester
English Study Centre (CESC) has a long
tradition of quality English language
teaching, receiving students from all
over the world who want to learn English
in Britain.
The school was set up in 1969 by the publisher
Oxford University Press. It is British
Council accredited and is the only
private language school in Colchester.
CESC occupies three large Georgian buildings
in the very elegant Lexden area of Colchester,
just five minutes' walk from the centre of town.
The school has 22 classrooms and can accommodate
up to 280 students.
Colchester English Study Centre is an
authorised centre for the University of
Cambridge ESOL Examinations (KET, PET, FCE,CAE,CPE),
and for the IELTS (International
English Language Testing System) exam, which is run
at the Centre roughly every two weeks.
Since 1988, CESC has run a junior summer programme
for 12-18 year-olds, International
Language Holidays, which
is also British Council accredited.
