    • time [15.00] of arrival
    • at least 2 weeks before you arrive

  • You will be met on arrival at the airport by our International Language Holidays staff.
  • Our staff wait in the area immediately outside the customs in arrivals. They will hold up large signs and are wearing blue T-shirts so you can see them easily
  • Use the special luggage labels
  • Our staff can then easily see you when you arrive at the airport
  • One should be worn in a way so that our staff can see it clearly
  • One should be tied to your suitcase
  • You will be taken a private coach or taxi which will take you with our staff directly to your centre.
  • Flight delays: our staff will wait for all flights. We check the times of all delayed flights. We will always wait for you!

What happens when I have finished my course?

  • At the end of the course you will be taken to the airport by coach or taxi with our staff
  • You will be checked in for your return flight and then you will be escorted to the Departures Lounge at the airport.
  • If you are travelling alone, you will then be looked after by airline staff.

What will the weather be like in England in July?

  • The weather in England is very changeable and so we suggest that you bring a warm and waterproof coat or jacket.
  • In July the temperature is usually about 25° C but may be 17° C

How much pocket money should I bring?

  • There is no charge for books, meals nor any of the trips, visits and excursions you will make.
  • You will need money only for, extra drinks, snacks, telephone calls, postcards and stamps, presents and souvenirs
  • We recommend pocket money between £70.00 - £90.00 per week.
  • We recommend that you bring English money with you [sterling pounds]. However there is a bank near your centre where travellers' cheques and currency can be changed.

Who will look after my money, passport and tickets?

  • On arrival at your school, you will be asked for your passport, your airline ticket and your money
  • She will lock these in our safe so that they cannot be lost or stolen.
  • She will give you a receipt. You can get your money each day as you need it.

What will happen if I feel ill?

  • A doctor is available 24 hours per day.
  • If you don't need medical insurance because the Health Service of Britain has an arrangement with your country, there is no charge for treatment or medicine. You will always have to pay for dental treatment
  • If International Language Holidays needs to insure you, you will have to pay for the first £25 of your treatment and pay for medicines. All other treatment is free. You will have to pay for dental treatment
  • You must complete the medical information section in our enrolment form or a form given you by your leader.
  • Parents and group leaders must provide previous medical history of all students to your centre staff

****VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION****

Parents must give permission in writing to allow International Language Holiday Staff to prescribe aspirin and paracetamol or similar medicines for coughs and colds.

All student medicines must be given to us at the beginning of the course.

International Language Holidays cannot accept responsibility concerning the medical condition of any student, if we do not have necessary information in writing before the child arrives.

International Language holidays assumes that when parents enrol students on an International Language Holiday programme, they are automatically giving permission for their children to participate in all advertised programmes in the brochure, unless they give different instructions in writing.

How can your parents contact you by phone?

  • The telephone numbers for parents wishing to telephone will be sent to them before the course starts:
  • Parents can only call at the following times

    08:00 - 09:00
    12:45 - 14:00
    17:00 - 18:30

If parents telephone to speak to a student, there may be a long delay before he or she can be brought to the telephone. Your school is situated on a large campus and it can take ten minutes or more to bring a student from the Sports Hall or the Swimming Pool to the telephone.

IT IS MUCH BETTER IF STUDENTS TELEPHONE YOUR PARENTS FROM TIME TO TIME. There are special telephones at the school for you to use and our staff are always on hand to help. Remember, it can take a long time to bring you to the telephone if your parents call you.
