We believe that living with a homestay is the best way for students to improve their English, and to find out more about British culture.  CESC is the only language school in Colchester offering accommodation, so we can choose from the very best local families. Typically, accommodation comprises:

  • a comfortable, well-furnished single room with desk (towel and sheets included)
  • half-board Monday-Friday (breakfast & evening meal); full-board Saturday & Sunday (breakfast, lunch, evening meal)

We never place students of the same nationality in a homestay unless requested to do so.
Many of our students live less than 5 km from the school, and most bus services from homestays to the school are direct.
We can take into account the special needs of diabetic and vegetarian students, if we are given sufficient notice. Please let us know if you have any medical problems.

Our accommodation officer, Helen Thompson, has almost 20 years of experience. CESC's accommodation placement service is FREE - there is no accommodation placement fee. Some of our host families have worked with us for over 20 years. Many of them have enjoyed excellent relationships with the students who stayed with them, and have even visited them in their home countries afterwards (for weddings, family events, etc). Students even stay with their past host families when they come back to the UK on holidays!

Other accommodation options

Hotel accommodation:     We can help students find hotel accommodation in Colchester, if requested. This tends to  be a popular option
                                                                                       among executive students in particular.
